Ufa Eye Research Institute acquired HiScan OPTIKON (Italy) for ultrasound study of anterior and posterior eye segments.

Diagnostic equipment HiScan OPTIKON is designed for A / B eye scanning.

A-scan (echo biometry) allows measuring the axial length of the eye in an immersion medium  after vitreoretinal surgery ("silicone" mode);  before and after Lasik surgery;  with regard to the type of pseudophakic eye, implant material;

 B-scan mode includes anterior and posterior eye segment scanning suitable for obtaining images with no need for additional image reconstruction.

Ultrasound eye biomicroscopy is designed to measure linear and angular parameters of intraocular structures with micron accuracy. Ultrasound of a high-frequency (50 MHz) during the immersion scanning allows detailed visualization of anterior and posterior eye chambers, a qualitative and quantitative assessment of its structures, spatial relationships of the cornea, ciliary body, iris, lens both under normal and pathological conditions . Besides, this device is able to study ocular structures inaccessible for light biomicroscopy, such as the iris, ciliary body, fibers of Zinn’s zonule.

A wide spectrum of diagnostic objectivity and highly informative data while using HiScan OPTICON provide timely and qualitative diagnosis of eye diseases.
