Participation in the seminar on “Modern diagnostic methods and approaches to glaucoma therapy”. January 26-27, 2017 Vienna, Austria.


The seminar on "Modern diagnostic methods and approaches to glaucoma therapy" which took place on January 26-27, 2017 in Vienna, Austria was attended by the head of II microsurgery department of Ufa Eye Research Institute, PhD I. Khusnitdinov.

The seminar was held on the basis of public and private hospitals of Vienna. In the course of its work the following issues were discussed:

-          Healthcare organization in Austria,

-         Rare case reports,

-         An overview of the European glaucoma management,

-         Modern glaucoma diagnostic methods and interpretation of findings,

-         Basic principles of medical, laser and surgical treatment of glaucoma.

I.Khusnitdinov presented a report on “Rare case reports of glaucoma surgery”.

The participants visited the state hospital - Hanusch Hospital At Hanuschkrankenhaus, University Hospital - University Eye Clinic AKH-Wien and private ophthalmological center of Professor A. Hommer - Hommer Ophthalmology Institute. At the clinics, the organization of eye care and treatment of patients has been demonstrated in accordance with glaucoma stage, in the operating units  surgeries with the use of gel stent XEN were demonstrated.
